Dr. Allan R. Cook received his B.A. in English in 1993 and his M.A. in English from Oakland University in Michigan and his Ph.D. in English and Education from the University of Michigan in 2002. Dr. Cook taught literature, education, and communication courses at Marygrove College in Detroit from 2001 to 2010 before coming to Penn State Behrend. His research interests include paralogic rhetoric, dialogic education, action research, and instructional technology. He has used his previous research on dialogic methodologies to integrate blogs and asynchronous communication as integral components of his classroom teaching. His current research focuses on the pedagogic potential of game theory and game environments.
