Dr. Brad Lint is a lecturer in English at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. In 1989, he received his B.A. in Political Science with minors in Chinese and Russian from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his M.A. (2002) and Ph.D. (2008) in Literature and Criticism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His major areas of concentration are pedagogy, world literature, Asian American literature, American immigrant literature, and film studies. He is currently coordinator of the Penn State Behrend Asian Studies Certificate program.
Dr. Lint comes to Penn State Behrend with over twenty years of teaching experience. During sixteen years in Taiwan, he learned to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese, studied Northern Shaolin and Seven Star Mantis under Gao Daosheng, and studied Buddhism at Dharma Drum Mountain and the Tzu Chi Foundation. He has co-authored a series of English textbooks, authored a Chinese-English dictionary, written feature articles for The China News, and was awarded “Teacher of the Year” in 1993.
