A little about me: I am a junior double major, studying Project and Supply Chain Management, as well as Interdisciplinary Business with Engineering Studies. I also plan to earn the SAP certificate. In addition, I play on the women's soccer team and tutor a handful of classes in business, math, and engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends at Behrend and doing things in the Erie community. I love to go to Erie Otters hockey games, sports games on campus, Presque Isle, or the movies.

Why did I choose Penn State Behrend? I chose Behrend because of the professors and the majors offered. On one of my visits to Behrend, I met with some professors of majors I was interested in. I believe it was a Saturday, and it really impressed me that professors here would be willing to chat with a prospective student on their day off.

Additionally, I was really unsure of what I wanted to major in. I was stuck between the two majors I am doing now. I came in as IBE, and not too long after I was here, I found out I would be able to double-major, which was really exciting for me. Lastly, the ending piece of the puzzle worked out, and I was offered a spot on the women's soccer team. Icing on the cake!

What is your favorite thing about Behrend and why? My favorite thing about Behrend is, hands-down, the people I've met. I've developed some really great friendships with people that I dearly miss during the summer months. I've also made connections with some of the awesome faculty and staff. This is great because these people now know you and what you're interested in and will keep you in mind for various opportunities that come up.

What do you like to do in your spare time? What extracurricular activities are you involved in? In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, getting food, going to Otters Hockey games, exploring Presque Isle, or just seeing what events are going on on campus and in Erie. On campus, I play on the women's soccer team. I am a Lion Scout (!) and student tutor. I am involved with TEDxPSU Erie and Project and Supply Chain Management Club. I also enjoy volunteering for TOP Soccer in the spring.

What is a piece of advice you have for prospective Behrend students? My advice to first year/prospective Behrend students is to really dive in the first week you're on campus. When the freshman arrive before everyone else, there is so much programming on campus and it can seem really overwhelming. But the point of it is to get you acclimated with being a Behrend student and to meet new people! Just like you, nobody knows anybody else, so just say hi to someone. You'll both be glad you did! Even if you're the person who does not want to go to any of those activities, go find the other person who doesn't want to go either. You already have something in common. Don't be a hermit; this is the time when you'll make some really great friends, so take advantage of it.

What "field work"/internships have you utilized to help you find work within your major? I have recently completed an internship with Giant Eagle in the supply chain technologies department. This was a really great opportunity for me because I was able to see some of the subjects I had studied come to life in the business world. I learned so much more than I would have ever imagined that I've brought back to school with me and applied to my classes and group projects.

What do you hope to do after graduation? After graduation, I'm hoping to find a position in logistics or supply chain with an awesome company. Company culture is really important to me, and I believe when I find the right culture fit, my job won't feel like a job anymore. I'll be wanting to go to work everyday.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would travel to Brazil or Argentina if I could go anywhere. I've been to a lot of places in the U.S. and 9 other countries, but I've never been to South America. The culture, colors, food, and people are some things I'd love to experience. Not to mention they are huge soccer loving people, and it would be so cool to watch them play.
