Golf Hosts 2009 Fall Behrend Invitational at Peak n' Peek
The Penn State Behrend men's golf team hosted the annual Behrend
Invitational at Peak n' Peek ski and golf resort on Thursday,
September 24.
A total of twelve schools participated in the event. Including six AMCC rivals. Washington & Jefferson carded a 308 to take the team title. Pitt-Bradford logged a 320 to place second, while the Behrend Lions blue squad finished a stroke behind in third with a 321.
Top finishers for the Behrend Lions were freshman Dan L'Herbier (Gibsonia/Deer Lakes) with a 76 which tied for third overall. Senior Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren), who had previously led Behrend as the top finisher in the previous three events in 2009, carded a 78. Anthony Mortillaro (Richboro/Brighton) was next with an 80.
The Behrend Lions season continues as
they travel to the Medaille Invitational on September 26, and then to
the La Roche Invitational on September 29. The AMCC Championships will be
hosted by Mount Aloysius at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course on October 4 and 5.
The blue and white will conclude their season on October 12 and 13 at the ECAC Championships.
