Penn State Behrend Defeats Grove City 1-0

The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team defeated the Grove City Wolverines by a score of 1-0 in a hard fought game on Wednesday, September 16 at the Behrend Fields.

The blue and white got on the scoreboard quickly as sophomore Aaron Meehl (North East/North East) headed in a goal off a corner kick from teammate Josh Teti (McKeesport/Elizabeth Forward).  The goal for the Behrend Lions came at the 40:50 mark in the first half and that is all the scoring that they needed.

Behrend was stellar on defense holding the Wolverines scoreless and only allowing two shots on goal.  Senior goalkeeper Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski Area) came up big with a tremendous save late in the second half to preserve the victory.

With the win, Behrend improves to 4-1-1 on the year.  Up next for the blue and white is the conference opener with rival Frostburg State on Saturday, September 19 at 3:00 p.m.  The game will be played at the Behrend Fields.
