Christman Leads Behrend in Several All-Conference
Selections

The
Penn
State Behrend women's tennis program captured the 2009 AMCC
Championship on October 18. To go along with their ninth title
in twelve years, several of the members were tabbed in
All-Conference slections.
Sophomore Arica Christman (Sharon/Sharon) was
voted AMCC Tennis Player of the Year for 2009. Christman
successfully defended her #1 singles title and was runner up with
teammate Stephanie Cattron (Greenville/Commodore Perry) in #1
doubles in the AMCC Tournament. Along with Christman, Cattron
earned First Team All-Conference in singles and Second Team in
doubles.
Also representing the Behrend Lions on the First Team
All-Conference for singles play were seniors Christy Calvert
(Warren/Mercyhurst Prep) and Karen Hobaugh (Kutztown/Kutztown).
Calvert and Hobaugh continued to show great leadership throughout
the year and ended their careers on a great note.
Hillary Lasher (Lakewood/Southwestern) and Leslie
Durante (Fairview/Fairview) rounded out the blue and white First
Team All-Conference selections. Lasher and Durante also took
the honors of First Team All-Conference doubles.
Behrend Head Coach Jeff Barger won his second
consecutive AMCC Coach of the Year honors in leading his team yet
another AMCC crown.
