Earns Another Win in Behrend Invitational on Friday Night
The
volleyball program picked up another win in the Behrend Invitational on
Friday Night with three straight set wins over Lycoming (1-3). Behrend
defeated the Lady Warriors 25-20, 25-20, and 25-23 to improve to 4-3 on the
season and improve to 3-0 at home.
Offensively, senior Shelia Ogden (Grove City/Grove City) posted 10 kills, while Lauren Dalton (Cochranton/Cochranton) added six. Brooke Gallentine (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Southmoreland) dished out earned 32 assists, and also collected 12 digs. Danielle Woods (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) was big on the defensive side and had 19 digs in the three sets.
"It was good to pick up a pair of wins tonight, but we need cut down on our errors", said sixth year Head Coach Phil Pisano. "Roberts Wesleyan and Grove City are two strong teams and we will need a great defensive effort to have success tomorrow."
On Saturday, Behrend will battle Roberts Wesleyan at 10:30 a.m. on court one. Court two features Bethany against D'Youville. At 12:30 p.m. Grove City and Lycoming will play, and Roberts Wesleyan faces Bethany. Then at 2:30 p.m. Behrend will battle the Grove City Wolverines (2-4).
