Behrend Water Polo Set to Host Division III

men's water polo is set to host the
Division III Eastern Championships on Saturday, October 21.
The event begins Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with number-one seeded Johns
Hopkins squaring off against the number five seed, Connecticut College
and continues through to Sunday, October 22. Penn State Behrend
is ranked number-four in the five-team tournament and comes off a 2-3
performance in last year's Eastern Championships.
Behrend will play matches at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Their first match pits them against Connecticut College, whom they beat twice in the tournament last season. Game two for the blue and white has them matched up against a tough Johns Hopkins team.
Leading the Behrend offense this season are Anthony Spoto (Birmingham, MI/Seaholm) who has 14 goals and Andre Pranckevicius (Miami, FL/Miami Beach), who has chalked up 15. Between the pipes for Behrend is senior goalkeeper Leandro Azevedo (Miami, FL/Miami Beach) who is ranked second in the nation in saves per game, with 11.7.
Other teams in the tournament include second-seeded Massachusetts Institute of Technology and third-seeded Washington & Jefferson.
