MATH OPTIONS FOR GIRLS
Math Options Career Day 2012 is on May 8
Celebrating our 16th year!

Welcome to the Math Options program, a math, science, technology, 2008 Math Options Career Dayengineering, and business career day for seventh- and eighth-grade girls.

This program, an outreach service of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College's Continuing Education department, has been designed to provide information on careers in mathematics, engineering, technology, and the sciences to young women at a time when they are making important academic decisions. Girls from schools in Erie, Crawford, Potter, Venango, and Warren counties attend the Math Options program.

Looking Back: Math Options Career Day 2011

On May 10, 2011 Continuing Education hosted the 15th annual Math 2008 Math Options Career DayOptions Career Day. Nearly 230 female students from forty Pennsylvania schools experienced interactive workshops while meeting women and men who work in STEM fields.  Our keynote speakers, Michelle Zowacki, Project Plastics Engineer at MEDRAD in Pittsburgh, and Holly Blasko-Drabik, Lecturer in Psychology at Penn State Behrend and former senior researcher for the RETRO gaming laboratory that deals with creating educational video games, shared experiences and highlights from their own academic and professional careers.
