Computer Labs The Computer Center consists of several public labs on campus, including:
These labs are available to Penn State Behrend students, faculty, and staff during regularly scheduled hours of the Computer Center unless otherwise posted or reserved for classes. (Click here to view the reserved lab schedules.) The PCs are configured with:
In addition, the PCs support the use of most USB pen/thumb drives. Each public lab contains a black-and-white laser printer. There is no charge for printing to the laser printers. Color printing is available for a fee at the Copy and Multimedia Center. The PCs have access to a variety of software via a file server. (For instance, there is software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, Web pages, and much more.) In addition, all PCs have an Internet connection that allows for e-mail, FTP, and Web browsing. The CyberLounge in H135 is Behrend's newest 24/7 computer lab, offering academic support in a relaxed, informal setting. The lounge features twenty workstations, two semi-private study nooks with large-screen TVs, and four collaborative work tables, along with dual, overhead LCD TVs, high-capacity output printers, an Access Account Signature station for password resets, and four flatbed scanners. And last, but not least, a gourmet coffee vending machine provides that needed caffeine fix to get you moving the morning or keep you moving later into the night!
The computer labs are scheduled on a priority basis to provide an equal opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to use the lab facilities. Faculty and staff may schedule computer labs through the Manager of IT Support Services. If you are interested in scheduling a lab for seminars or classes, see Policy for Scheduling Computer Labs. |
