Runners from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, dominated the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships in Angloa, New York. The women’s team recorded its first-ever perfect score, with runners in each of the top-five spots.
Penn State Behrend’s fourth annual Faculty, Staff, and Alumni Art Show opens Wednesday, Nov. 15, with a “Meet the Artists” reception in the Lilley Library gallery from 6 to 8 p.m. The show features works by faculty and staff members from several departments of the college. For the first time, this year’s show also will include submissions from Penn State Behrend alumni.
Harun Mehmedinovic, director of photography for HBO, and Gavin Heffernan, a filmmaker and screenwriter for National Geographic, CBS and USA Today, will discuss SKYGLOW, their ongoing crowdfunding project which explores light pollution, when they visit Penn State Behrend on Monday, Nov. 13.
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has again earned the "Tree Campus USA" designation. The college is also an arboretum, with more than 200 tree species on a 854-acre campus.
The women’s volleyball and women’s soccer teams at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, won Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference titles on Nov. 4 and 5. The volleyball team won 15 of its final 16 matches leading up to the title game against La Roche. The soccer team defeated Franciscan, winning its seventh-consecutive AMCC championship.
This year marked the 12th year for Women in Engineering Day, which was held Friday, Nov. 3, at Penn State Behrend. More than 150 area high school girls attended.
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will host a series of talks and presentations as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, beginning Nov. 15. Don Morrison, former president of American Eagle Outfitters, will be the keynote speaker.
Several weeks ago, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB) provided Penn State and the Coalition of Graduate Employees (CGE) with the transcripts from the PLRB hearings that were held on the petition filed by the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) to unionize Penn State graduate students.
Savanna Carr, a Penn State Behrend freshman, qualified for the NCAA national championship race with a seventh-place finish at the Division III Mideast Regional. She will run the Principia College North Farm Cross Country Course on Nov. 18.
