M.B.A. Student Earns Third-best Score in the World on the Bloomberg Aptitude Test

Brian Seelinger finished third in the world on the April 2014 version of the BAT.Brian Seelinger, an M.B.A. student at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, earned the third-best score in the world for the April 2014 version of the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT). The performance improves Seelinger’s February ranking, when he finished among the top five scorers in the Americas Region.

Seelinger’s score of 740 was tied for third in the world. In April, more than 6,200 people took the BAT, a two-hour test that consists of 100 multiple-choice questions designed to assess aptitude for business and finance.

There has never been a perfect score on the BAT, which offers a possible 800 points. April’s top score was 790, the highest score in the four-year history of the BAT.

Seelinger graduated from Penn State Behrend in May 2013 with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He is expected to graduate with his M.B.A. in 2015.

BAT test-takers’ scores are anonymously entered into the Bloomberg Talent Search Database. The database is available to more than 20,000 top firms and allows employers to contact a test-taker for an internship or full-time position. Seelinger also received an iPad mini for finishing among April’s top three scorers in the world.
