University funds, including restricted, general, and OGE accounts, are not to be used by University employees to tip bus drivers on group trips. If riders wish to tip the driver, they must use personal funds. As a guideline for personal tipping, generally accepted levels for tipping by passengers, according to bus company sources, is $1 per rider per day.
Exceptions to this guideline are international group bus trips where tipping is the common practice.
