A new series of on-campus and online events will offer prospective graduate students information about Penn State Behrend’s five master’s degree programs, which include courses in Erie and at the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Township.
Faculty members in Penn State Behrend's Black School of Business have published 32 books and book chapters since 2017. “Publishing is an important aspect of our faculty’s work,” said Greg Filbeck, the school's director. “It amplifies their expertise, extending the benefits of their research and perspective beyond our students, to the broader business community.”
The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming team set 12 school records in a Jan. 29 dual meet at Nazareth. The women’s team set eight records. The teams will return to the pool Saturday for a Senior Night dual meet against Gannon.
Penn State Behrend’s spring Music at Noon concert series begins Feb. 8 with a performance by Boyd Meets Girl, whose repertoire stretches from Bach to Beyonce. Two additional concerts will follow.
The spring schedule for the Smith Creative Writers Reading Series at Penn State Behrend will feature poets, prose writers and students in the college’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program. The readings, which begin Jan. 27, are open to the public.

Penn State University Libraries’ Open Publishing unit recently launched ROAM (short for “Repository of Open and Affordable Materials”), a newly expanded online publication service for openly licensed educational materials authored by Penn State faculty from all disciplines and campuses.
Presented by the Penn State Materials Research Institute, the Materials Spotlight Series connects industry and Penn State faculty and students for a series of presentations designed to create connections and spark discussions. The first edition of the 2022 Materials Spotlight Series, “The Future of Plastics,” will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 27 on the virtual platform Gather.Town.
