At the close of its 2016 employee campaign, which raised $54,000 for United Way of Erie County, Penn State Behrend reached an important milestone: More than $1 million in total giving to United Way and its programs.
Bill Lasher, chairman of the mechanical engineering program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is hit with a cream pie during a United Way fundraiser. The campus has raised more than $1 million for United Way since 1992.
The Penn State Behrend men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships, which were held at Junker Center. The men claimed their seventh-consecutive conference title, finishing 363 points ahead of Alfred State. The women won their third-straight title. The campus' basketball, volleyball, track and tennis teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights:
