Biography

Dr. Saharan is an assistant teaching professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State Behrend. He received his B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 from Kurukshetra University, India. He earned his M. Tech. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering in 2011 from M.N.I.T. Jaipur, India. He also worked as Assistant Professor (Teaching) at N.I.T. Kurukshetra, India, for two years before joining a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2014.
Dr. Saharan received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 with a research focus on rehabilitation robotics, soft robotics, and smart materials. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Miami University before joining Penn State.
