Biography
Biography
Dr. Madbouly received his Ph.D. from the Department of Organic and Polymeric Materials, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral Fellowship (Mainz University, Germany) and the Japan Society for Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowship (Tokyo Institute of Technology). He served as a senior research scientist at the School of Polymers and High-Performance Materials, University of Southern Mississippi and at the Center for Biomaterial Development, Institute of Polymer Research, GKSS, Germany. He also worked as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University and Senor Polymer Engineer at Schlumberger.
He published over 95 peer-reviewed journal papers with approximately 3800 citations. He also published 8 patents, two books, 20book chapters, and presented more than 100 talks at national and international meetings, and serves as a frequent reviewer and referee.

Dr. Madbouly main research areas focus on (1) biopolymers, polymer blends, polymer matrix nanocomposites, dispersions, and gels; (2) biocompatible and biodegradable shape-memory polymers; (3) formulation and applications of bio-based aqueous polyurethane in coatings and adhesive industries; (4) processing, phase behavior, and morphology of polymer blends and nanocomposites under static condition and shear flow; (5) characterization of polymeric materials including polymer films, nanocomposites, dispersions and hydrogels (Rheology, Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy, DMA, TMA, DSC, TGA, Instron, X-ray, Light scattering, TEM, SEM, etc.).
