Morning Sessions: 9:00 a.m.–Noon
Afternoon Sessions: 1:00–4:00 p.m.
All-Day Sessions: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Dino Digs

Have you ever wanted to be a paleontologist? Dive into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs and learn all about the different kinds of dinosaurs and when they lived. Then become a paleontologist by digging for bones and making your own fossil.

Cake Wars

You've seen it on TV, but this summer you will get to experience it! You and your friends will design and create a beautiful cake all on your own! Note: Peanuts may be used in this class.

Bippity … Boppity … Boo!

Calling all princesses!! If you love princesses, reading, being creative, and having fun, this class is for you. Each day will feature literacy time, storyboards, themed crafts, snacks, and games. We will even enjoy an Enchanted Tea party, with fairy stories, a fairy garden and of course plenty of pixie dust. Please feel free to wear your favorite princess attire.

3D World of Art

Get ready to make some 3D sculptures! They will be made of paper, wire, plastic, and metal, and will be functional, whimsical, and just plain beautiful. Kinetic energy will be our source of power. This class brings together science, math, and art.

Cookie Crush

No, it’s not Candy Crush—it’s COOKIE Crush! Create, eat, and share all different types of cookies and create your very own cookbook with all the cookie recipes to take home. Note: Peanuts may be used in this class.

Under the Sea

Welcome, future marine biologists! In this course, we will investigate the ocean and some of the life it supports. You’ll work in teams on hands-on activities to explore the amazing world of life under the sea. You’ll create artistic representations of aquatic life forms as you learn about life science.

Creative Coding and Game Design (Intro to Programming)

You’ll learn the basics of programming using block-based coding, and you’ll even create a basic video game by the end of the week!

Nature and Crafts Galore—NEW 

Explore your surroundings outdoors in the sunshine. Find interesting objects in nature and then use them to create beautiful crafts.

Outdoor Adventure!

Explore the Penn State Behrend campus and the surrounding Wintergreen through hiking and other interactive projects.

Ukulele 4 Kids—NEW

Learn all about the ukulele, including parts of the instrument, scales, chords, and more. By the end of class, you'll make your own songs and song combinations! Taught by local artist Trevor Vogt. Ukuleles will be provided for your use, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Swirls of Color by Painting—NEW

This class brings you the excitement of painting with watercolors, giving you tools, paper, and tips. Your colors will never run together again—unless you want them to!

Tie Dye DIY—NEW

Create a variety of tie-dye projects by using different techniques. In addition to DIY projects, you'll conduct simple science experiments and prepare colorful snacks.

Week 5: July 25-29

 

Fun in a Fairy Garden—NEW

Let's spend the week creating a wonderful place for fairies and other small friends to live and play! We will be the imagineers of tiny secret outdoor places for fairies and their friends to inhabit. Welcoming doors, colorful toadstools, birdhouses, and perhaps even some garden furniture will be the start of our miniature collection.

Encanto Party—NEW

Enjoy learning about yourself and Colombian culture while planning an Encanto-themed party! Make decorations and cook some traditional Colombian foods; create Encanto-inspired crafts that promote self-expression; learn choreography for popular songs from the movie. End the week with an Encanto-themed party that you've had a hand in planning, catering, and decorating.

Backyard Camping

Hope you like outdoor fun! Come backyard “camping” with clothesline tents and plenty of outdoor activity time. The week will include crafts, hiking, climbing, splashing, and a cookout. (Be sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, and maybe a hat!)
