Morning Sessions: 9:00 a.m.–Noon
Afternoon Sessions: 1:00–4:00 p.m.
All-Day Sessions: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Ninja Warrior Adventure—NEW

Spend the week training like a Ninja Warrior! Learn FITDECK exercises and fitness training principles. Each Ninja will receive a water bottle and towel. Put your skills to the test with a ticket to Sinai Sports, Erie's 1st Ninja Warrior gym, upon completion of your training!
Price: $120

Model Rocketry

Explore the exciting world of model rocketry. Following strict safety rules, you'lll build a reusable model rocket you will launch during class and then again at home. You will design your own launch system, which will include a wooden launch pad and electronic ignition system. Family members will be invited to watch you successfully launch your rocket on the final day of class.

Jurassic Park Dinosaurs—NEW

Have you ever wanted to be a paleontologist? Then dive into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs! Learn all about the different kinds of dinosaurs and when they lived. You will then learn what happened to the dinosaurs and become a paleontologist by digging for bones and making your own fossil.

Become an author today! Learn about story elements, narrative writing, and illustrations by creating your very own hardcover book and becoming a famous College for Kids author and illustrator!

Cardboard City—NEW

Once you've built your dream home, it is time to think bigger and better by building a whole city! Campers will be tasked with building a whole city that would include roads, cars, multiple buildings, a skyscraper, and much more!

Mindful Movement

Learn yoga and meditation through music, games, crafts, and more! We will be practicing poses, breathing techniques, and a variety of meditations.

Summer Arts and Crafts 1—NEW

A week full of the best summer arts and crafts projects: tie-dye, wind chimes, DIY sidewalk paint, and splatter art. We’ll be outside to enjoy the beautiful Behrend campus and the summer weather as much as possible.

Slimey Science

Love to make slime? In this course, you will investigate the science behind the making of slime! Use the scientific method to question, research, make hypotheses, conduct experiments, and analyze results. You'll work together on hands-on activities, making your own slime using different recipes.

Color, Color, Everywhere—NEW

Watercolors can be fun!  This class will teach you how to get the most out of your watercolors. Many techniques will be demonstrated.  We'll provide brushes, watercolors, and paper. Come ready to paint!

DIY Boardgaming: Past, Present, and Future—NEW

Play board games and card games while learning to apply logic, critical thinking, problem solving, and reasoning skills. Plus, design and create their own board game to play with your classmates and then take home at the end of the week.

Drawing What You See

Improve your drawing! This class will show you how light, shadows, texture, and perspective all work together to create realistic art. Landscapes, animals, and people will be your subject matter.

Scrappy Circuits—NEW

This is an imaginative "do-it-yourself" way to learn about electrical circuits with items easily found in your home or your local dollar store! Raid your junk drawer for simple office supplies, add a little cardboard, pay a visit to a local dollar store, and you are on your way to countless fun projects for learning about electronics. No soldering or expensive equipment required.

Felicity's Tea Party

Spend a week with Felicity, an early American colonial girl. Have fun discovering her world by using a quill pen to write, making a spoon doll, and sewing your own "pocket" to carry special treasures. Each day we will explore more about colonial times, play colonial games, and even make our own butter to have at our special tea party.

Astronomy and Space Science

Explore Behrend's Yahn Planetarium, observatories, and telescopes to discover the wonders of space! Learn how astronauts are training to explore the moon and about robotic space exploration.

Kids in the Kitchen

If you like cookies, brownies, cake pops and other sweet treats, this is the class for you. We will spend the week in the kitchen learning how to safely use the oven, mixer, and other tools necessary for baking. You will learn how to read a recipe and use your math skills and learn all about the ingredients necessary to make the BEST bakes ever!

Week 5: July 25-29

 

Introduction to Robotics

Explore the world of robotics. Robots are everywhere! In toys, in machines used in industry, even in the space program. We will be experimenting, programming, creating, and completing projects using the EV3 LEGO Mindstorm system, Robosapien, Jitter Bot, MIP and more.
