ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team swept Baldwin Wallace and La Roche on Sept. 28. The team is undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.
Tamanna Sharma, a senior from Brampton, Canada, won at No. 1 singles against Baldwin Wallace, finishing 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Enisa Siljkovic, a sophomore from Erie, won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
The men’s team defeated Nazareth, 4-3.
Behrend’s soccer, volleyball and water polo teams also were action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s soccer
- Penn State Behrend 3, Penn State Altoona 1
- Penn State Behrend 1, Mt. Union 1
Owen Peterson, a junior from Erie, scored off a header in the 81st minute against Mt. Union. Daniel Battista, a freshman from South Park, earned the assist.
Women’s soccer
- Penn State Behrend 1, Penn State Altoona 0
- Case Western Reserve 2, Penn State Behrend 0
Lizzie Hoff, a senior from Moon Township, scored the goal against Penn State Altoona. Goalkeeper Riley Morningstar, a senior from North Huntingdon, made a season-high 10 saves against Case Western Reserve, which is ranked No. 4.
Women’s volleyball
- Alfred 3, Penn State Behrend 1
Cadence Jones, a sophomore from North East, had nine kills against Alfred. Alani Salas-Garcia, a junior from Jacksonville, Florida, had 15 digs.
Men’s water polo
- McKendree 16, Penn State Behrend 14
- Gannon 24, Penn State Behrend 14
- Penn State Behrend 13, Washington and Jefferson 11
- McKendree 18, Penn State Behrend 6
