B.E.S.T. (Behrend Excellent Student Transition) is a mentoring program that pairs a first-year Penn State Behrend student from an underrepresented group or any other student who wishes to join the program with a current Behrend student and alumni. Peer mentors act as a guide to help new students transition to college life. This is done in both formal and informal ways. Mentors and mentees participating in the program are invited to social, cultural, and educational events planned by the Office of Educational Equity and Diversity Programs. They also meet spontaneously and interact via texts, emails, and other forms of social media.
Applications for 2021–22 are closed. We will open applications for 2022–23 soon. Stay tuned!
