Penn State Behrend’s 2018 Smith Carillon Concert Series schedule announced

The Smith Carillon Concert Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has announced its 2018 performance schedule. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Free hot dogs and snacks will be served during the performances.
“The Many Threads of Quilting,” a quilt exhibition that opened April 28 at the Erie Art Gallery, served as the senior capstone project for Victoria Alcorn, who graduated this month from Penn State Behrend with a degree in arts administration.

John Champagne named 2018-19 Penn State Laureate

John Champagne, professor of English and chair of the Global Languages and Cultures program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has been named Penn State Laureate for the 2018-19 academic year. As laureate, he will tour Pennsylvania to ask probing questions about — and offer a historical perspective on — the role of the artist in times of political turmoil.

Penn State Laureate brings ‘FaceAge’ exhibit to Behrend Wednesday

Andrew Belser, a professor of movement, voice and acting, is the 2017-2018 Laureate and director and producer of “FaceAge,” an immersive, three-screen multimedia exhibit that showcases the interactions between young adults and aging individuals. He will visit Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, April 18.
