A team of Penn State Behrend students participated in Howard University’s 15th annual National Model African Union Summit. The four-day summit, sponsored by the African Union Mission and Member State Embassies in Washington, D.C., is a simulation of the proceedings of the African Union.

Penn State Behrend student uses photography for philanthropy

Mickie MacNicol, a junior nursing major at Penn State Behrend, will combine her passions for humanitarianism and photography this spring. From now until the end of the semester, she invites all graduating seniors to contact her to set up a senior photo shoot. In exchange for the photos, participating students are asked to donate only what they can afford, and MacNicol will give all proceeds from the photo shoots to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.

Penn State Behrend student collects thousands of bottles of water for Flint

Seun Babalola, a sophomore political science major at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, collected more than 3,000 bottles and raised $308 to assist the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The bottles will be delivered in early April to Mission of Hope, a church and food bank in the Flint area.

Behrend graduate M. Ehsan Hoque wins university Alumni Achievement award

M. Ehsan Hoque, a 2004 Penn State Behrend computer engineering graduate, is one of nine recipients of the Penn State Alumni Association’s 2017 Alumni Achievement Award.
