Trinity Prestash, a junior from Philipsburg, scored four goals in the women’s soccer game against Carlow. Penn State Behrend won the game, 7-0. The Lions are now 11-4-1 and are undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.
The new $1.2 million Prischak Robotics and Automation Lab at Penn State Behrend is equipped with industry-grade collaborative robots, sensors, vision systems and manufacturing control systems.

Mary Good Lawrence, deputy manager of the International Space Station Vehicle Office at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, has been named the 2023 recipient of the Penn State Behrend Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.
ChatGPT will never fully replace human writing, according to Stephen Monroe, assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi. Monroe will discuss the technology during an Oct. 10 visit to Penn State Behrend. “Some parts of the writing process will always need to remain offline, and slow,” he said.
Kyocera AVX, a global manufacturer of advanced electronic components, is planning to build an approximately 50,000-square-foot production facility in Knowledge Park at Penn State Behrend. The facility will serve as a corporate headquarters and manufacturing base for a new division created by Kyocera’s purchase of Erie-based Bliley Technologies.
