Penn State Behrend’s cross country teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships in Buffalo, New York, on Oct. 28.

Penn State Behrend’s cross country teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships in Buffalo, New York, on Oct. 28. The men’s team placed eight runners in the top 10; the women posted five of their field’s ten fastest times.

The college’s soccer, volleyball and swimming and diving teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Men’s soccer

Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 0

Johnathan Swann, a junior from Allison Park, scored in the 49th minute against Hilbert. He scored again in the 62nd minute, converting on a crossing pass from Blake Cooper, a junior from Murrysville.

Women’s soccer

Penn State Behrend 7, Hilbert 0

Lizzie Hoff, a sophomore from Moon Township, scored two goals against Hilbert. Rachel Sickeri, a freshman from DuBois, added a goal and two assists.

Women’s volleyball

Penn State Behrend 3, Pitt-Greensburg 1

Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 0

Sara Novak, a senior from Lower Burrell, had a career-high 17 kills against Pitt-Greensburg. Meg Goodsel, a senior from Corry, had 45 assists. She now has more than 1,500 assists in her collegiate career.

Men’s cross country

First (of seven teams) at the AMCC championships

Kody Klein, a junior from North East, finished first in a field of 48 runners, completing the 8K race in 26:10.29. Lucas Boyd, a freshman from North East, was second, finishing in 26:13.84.

Women’s cross country

First (of four teams) at the AMCC championships

Olivia Nola, a junior from Erie, finished first in a field of 35 runners, completing the 6K race in 23:10.76. Savanna Carr, a senior from Accident, Maryland, was second, finishing in 23:11.90.

Men’s swimming and diving

Penn State Behrend 165, Alfred State 135

Tim Compton, a junior from Pittsburgh, won the 200 butterfly (1:56.56), the 100 butterfly (52.70) and the 200 IM (2:00.39). He also swam a leg for the 200-medley relay team, which won.

Women’s swimming and diving

Alfred State 149, Penn State Behrend 139

The Lions took the top three spots in the 100 backstroke. Camryn Watters, a freshman from Greensburg, finished first (1:01.31). Lauren Stephens, a freshman from Fairview, won the one-meter (183.50) and three-meter (180.40) diving events.
