The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team exited the NCAA Division III tournament with a 2-1 loss to Rochester on Nov. 11. The Lions end their season with a record of 13-5-2.

At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.
Penn State Behrend’s cross country teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships in Buffalo, New York, on Oct. 28. The men’s team placed eight runners in the top 10; the women posted five of their field’s ten fastest times.
The 2023-24 Speaker Series at Penn State Behrend will feature a discussion about artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, including the new digital defenses that are available to corporate teams, on Nov. 6. The program is free and open to the public.
Travis Sheetz, the president and chief operating officer of Sheetz Inc., talked about the family-based culture of the company during a visit to Penn State Behrend’s Center for Family Business. “It’s important to me to still have the first generation involved,” he said, “but it can be challenging, because this used to be their baby.”
