About her job: I teach nursing at Behrend at the sophomore, junior, and senior level in the following courses: pediatrics, health assessment, leadership, med math, and women's health studies.
On her nursing career: I have been a nurse for eighteen years. I have spent my entire career working in maternal/child health. I have worked as a registered nurse on the following units: postpartum, pediatrics, and in the NICU. I love nursing because it is constantly evolving and changing, giving us endless opportunities to continue to learn and grow.

Family: I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Michael. Together we have one child, Xavier, who is 12.
Why she joined the WEC board: I love the idea of getting women involved. Engaging women is crucial for building stronger, more equitable societies.
Most important traits for a professional woman to possess: I believe strong communication skills are essential in making an impact, networking, and leading teams. It is also crucial in advocating for yourself and the things you are passionate about.
What she wishes every woman knew: There is no one right path. Every woman's journey is different, and success looks different for everyone. It's okay to carve your own path and to take detours along the way!
How she relaxes: I love to take a walk with my family in the evening to get some fresh air and unwind with the ones I love. I also enjoy sitting by the fireplace and reading a good book.
What you'd be surprised to know about her: My father was in the Navy and my mother traveled with him. I was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
