Zabrina and Sam Epps have created the Zabrina and Sam Epps Educational Equity Scholarship, which will benefit students at Penn State Behrend. Sam Epps is a 1995 graduate of the college; he is the political director of UNITE HERE Local 25, the union of hotel, restaurant and casino workers in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin (at right) discussed her work in the social-justice movement during a Jan. 18 online forum hosted by Penn State Behrend's Office of Educational Equity and Diversity Programs.
Sybrina Fulton will open Penn State Behrend's 2021 celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a online discussion about activism and social justice. Her son, Trayvon Martin, was shot and killed in 2012.
