Science Storytime is a monthly program at Penn State Behrend where young learners are exposed to science-based topics through story reading, hands-on activities, and space shows held in the college’s Yahn Planetarium.
Matthew Weaver, assistant professor of psychology at Mercyhurst University, will discuss the dual-reinforcement model for nicotine and how that affects why people smoke when he visits Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, for the next presentation of the Colloquium Series in Psychological Sciences and Human Behavior.
"A Great Miracle Happened There," this year's holiday concert from the Young People's Chorus of Erie, will be held Friday, Dec. 8, and will explore the playful and more serious aspects of a variety of holiday traditions with tunes for Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali and more.

Colleen Kelley is an associate professor of rhetoric and communication at Penn State Behrend. She received her doctorate from the University of Oregon in rhetoric and communication and is the author of “Post 9/11 American Presidential Rhetoric - a Study of Protofascist Discourse.”
Charles Brock, director of the Institute on the American Dream and lecturer in political science, holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon, Harvard and Oxford universities and taught at Oxford’s Mansfield College for 35 years. Following his retirement from Oxford, he founded the Institute on the American Dream at Penn State Behrend.
