Purple Martins were hatched at Penn State Behrend in 2015 and again in 2016. Beth Potter, an associate professor of microbiology at the college, studies the microflora that coats the birds' eggs.
Mickie MacNicol, a junior nursing major at Penn State Behrend, will combine her passions for humanitarianism and photography this spring. From now until the end of the semester, she invites all graduating seniors to contact her to set up a senior photo shoot. In exchange for the photos, participating students are asked to donate only what they can afford, and MacNicol will give all proceeds from the photo shoots to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.
