Are you a multilingual student who grew up reading and writing a language other than English? Do you need language support? Penn State Behrend’s English as a Second Language classes and services can help!
Courses That Help You Learn English
Behrend courses designed for English language learners also meet Penn State’s General Education requirements. The courses include:
- A basic composition course that helps intermediate non-native English speakers improve their grammar and writing skills
- An advanced composition course that helps non-native English speakers develop American academic reading and writing skills
- A writing tutorial, taken at the same time as the first two writing courses, to provide additional one-on-one support
- A course that discusses American culture
- A course that explores international film and literature
Support in and out of the Classroom
