CARE Team Resources

For Emergencies: Dial 9-1-1

What Is the CARE Team?

The CARE Team is a small group of staff members from across the college who coordinate services for students who may find themselves in difficult situations and need help navigating problems or issues. Our team can help students find resources to manage academic, wellness, financial, and/or personal difficulties. Students are referred to the team when someone has a concern about them, so that the team can offer support, as needed. Email the CARE Team at [email protected].

814-898-6164 | [email protected] |  behrend.psu.edu/advising

Academic advisers present study skills workshops; answer questions about academic policies, procedures, or curriculum; and advise students enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). The Career Services team reviews résumés and cover letters, provides job and internship search strategies, and helps students develop interviewing and networking skills. Students are advised to schedule an appointment with a career counselor every semester.

Financial Resources

Financial Aid

Metzgar Center, 2nd Floor
814-898-6162 | [email protected]

Student aid gives eligible students access to a postsecondary education that otherwise would not be possible. Generally speaking, the student's family is expected to be the primary means of support for meeting college costs. However, when that is determined insufficient, student aid can assist with the cost of a student's education. Any student interested in being considered for loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study may apply for financial aid. Begin by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must complete a FAFSA each academic year you are enrolled at Penn State. The University’s FAFSA school code is 003329.

Student Hardship Fund

Students experiencing extraordinary and sometimes unexpected financial hardships may be eligible for student hardship funds. Students experiencing a financial emergency are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid office.

Bursar

Students with questions about their financial status and billing information should contact the Bursar.
