Ashley earned a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition at Carnegie Mellon. Before joining Penn State Behrend, she taught Spanish at the high school level for three years and English composition and Spanish at the college level at Carnegie Mellon University for two years. Before her career as an educator, Ashley worked in public relations for a national television company and has twelve years of experience as a freelance writer for national and regional magazines and newspapers.
