Kip Sobel joined a PNC predecessor as a branch manager in 1988. Over the next 35 years, he served in a series of progressive roles in consumer banking, private banking, commercial banking, and business banking. In 2003, he was named executive vice president and head of retail banking in northwestern PA, eastern OH, and central PA.

Throughout the 41 years of his career, community service has been a consistent passion. He currently serves as chairperson for the investments committee of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. In that role, he also serves Bishop David Zubik's finance council. Kip is a founding member, director, and vice president of Draggin' Tail Pilots, a tailwheel flying club in Zelienople.

Kip earned his bachelor's degree and M.B.A. from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Kip, his wife, and two children reside in the North Hills of Pittsburgh and enjoy family time at their vacation home in Chautauqua County, NY.

This is Kip's first engagement with our Executive in Residence program. He will work closely with the Finance program.
