Two players from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, have been named to the 2012 All-American water polo team. Both earned honorable-mention status from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.
Mary Ellen Spooner
Junior Mary Ellen Spooner scored 39 goals and earned 19 assists. She also had 74 steals.
Spooner, of Springfield, Va., is the first female Penn State Behrend water polo player to be named a three-time All-American. She is studying management, with a minor in accounting.
Driver Anne Lawrence had 43 steals and 22 assists. Lawrence, of State College, also had 13 goals. She is studying psychology.
