More than 140 companies will attend the fall career fair at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, on Wednesday. Thirty have set aside time afterward and on Thursday to interview students for full-time, part-time and co-op positions.
Current students from any of Erie County’s colleges and universities are welcome at the event, which will be held from noon to 4 p.m. in the Junker Center. A college ID is required.
Engineering graduates are especially in demand this year, said Carol Capan, employment relations coordinator for Penn State Behrend. “It’s mostly the technical recruiting that has bounced back,” Capan said. “The business side should follow as the economy improves and more products are developed.”
Alcoa, ExxonMobil, Caterpillar, Honda and Northrup Grumman will be recruiting at the event, which in 2011 was attended by 800 students. The front office of the Cleveland Cavaliers also will be there, looking for marketing and MBA students.
