Academic Advising
All Penn State Behrend students are assigned an academic adviser who is either a faculty member or a professional academic adviser in the college's advising center to assist you in planning courses to take for your major, discuss your academic goals, and help you in all your academic endeavors.
Adult learners are assigned an adviser based on their admission type. Many adult learners are assigned to Biddy Brooks in the Office of Adult Learner Services. As a staff member of the college's advising center, she is prepared to assist any adult learner with their academic questions as well as provide non-academic guidance.
Adult learners who enroll as first-year or transfer students are assigned a faculty adviser based on their anticipated major. The faculty adviser meets with students primarily to assist with course scheduling and academic guidance but will also discuss other issues as needed. If you have not been assigned an adviser, see the staff assistant in the school that offers the major that interests you or contact the Division of Undergraduate Studies.
In addition to your faculty adviser, any adult learner is welcome to see the adult learner adviser, Biddy Brooks, 215 Metzgar Center, 814-898-6700. Evening appointments are available.
Adviser information, along with your student records, can be obtained electronically through LionPATH. This online, interactive tool supplements student-adviser relationships and engages students in interactive, informed educational planning.
