Nomination Guidelines

Purpose

The Penn State Behrend Council of Fellows Undergraduate Student Research Award, established in 1990, is designed to recognize students who have demonstrated proficiency in research. Faculty members who have directed student research projects will nominate those students they feel have shown particular interest and mastery of the skills necessary to do independent research in their chosen field.

The committee will review the nominations based on breadth and depth, impact and contribution, technical skills, independent initiatives and problem-solving, evidence, and alignment with award criteria.

Eligibility

Four-year Penn State Behrend majors with fifth semester or higher standing.

Nomination Process

Students must be sponsored by full-time faculty member(s) under whom they have been working on a research project.

Nomination Deadline

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, February 14, 2025.

Selection Process

The senior associate dean will make the final choice in consultation with the school directors.
