Britt Daehnke

Britt Daehnke

Interim Director, Development and Alumni Relations, Penn State Behrend.

About her job: I connect alumni and friends with Penn State Behrend, and find meaningful ways for them to give. Whether it’s time, expertise, or financial gifts, there’s always a way to give back.

Hometown: Glassport, Pa., which is just south of Pittsburgh.

Family: Three children.

Goals as a member of WEC: I want to expand opportunities for women to engage with the college and our students.

On fostering connections: What I enjoy most about my job is meeting people, finding connections, and building relationships.

What is guaranteed to frustrate her: When I question or doubt myself.

Most important traits for a professional woman to possess: Confidence, positivity, and the ability to prioritize.

What she wishes every woman knew: We do not need to be everything to everyone. You can have it all, but you don’t have to do it all.

What she’s learned the hard way: You cannot change a person into who you think they should be.

Recommended reading: The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.

Turn up the heat: I love hot yoga. It’s very relaxing.

Food she couldn’t live without: Cheese!

On failure: I’ve had many failures in my life, some big and some small, but each one has provided an opportunity for growth. As long as my intentions were pure and actions honest, I just chalk it up to a lesson learned and try again.

Most interesting place she’s ever visited: Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, British Columbia.
