About her job: I work with traditional-age, first-year students and families who are considering Penn State Behrend. I help arrange tours, answer any questions they may have, and put them in touch with anyone else they may want to meet at Penn State Behrend.
Family: Husband, Cameron; two biological children, three stepchildren.
Why she joined the WEC board: I want to help inspire women to be great leaders and provide opportunities and resources to women of all ages, but especially Behrend students.
Most important traits for a professional woman to possess: Empathy, resilience, optimism, and energy. We all need a great deal of energy.
Words to live by: Life is what you make it. I live by the Serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Best advice she’s ever received: Always see the glass as half full. Optimism makes everyone around you more hopeful and happier.
Greek life: I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, which is one of the "Divine Nine" historically Black Greek organizations. AKA has a membership of more than 300,000 college women in all fifty states. Some of its most famous members are Dr. Maya Angelou, Ella Fitzgerald, Coretta Scott King, Gladys Knight, Toni Morrison, and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Most interesting place she’s visited: Guadalajara, Mexico.
