Eileen Phillips, a former U.S. Air Force medic, has enrolled in the new Second Degree nursing program at Penn State Behrend. "This program is going to allow me to take on a greater level of responsibility in patient care," she said.

The Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences has awarded eight teams of Penn State researchers with Mid-Scale Seed Grants for projects that will contribute to one or more of the institute's five research hubs or affiliated centers. The program awarded 23 Penn State faculty members representing six colleges and three campuses — University Park, Behrend and Hershey.

Penn State Behrend runner Carter Tobin won the 60-meter dash at the Houghton December Classic. He finished in 6.85 seconds – a qualifying time for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference.
