The Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences has awarded eight teams of Penn State researchers with Mid-Scale Seed Grants for projects that will contribute to one or more of the institute's five research hubs or affiliated centers. The program awarded 23 Penn State faculty members representing six colleges and three campuses — University Park, Behrend and Hershey.
Penn State Behrend runner Carter Tobin won the 60-meter dash at the Houghton December Classic. He finished in 6.85 seconds – a qualifying time for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference.
Dr. Matthew Gruwell, associate professor of biology, recently returned from a yearlong research expedition in South Africa, where he studied freshwater ecosystems in the rivers of Kruger National Park.
