More than 1,000 Erie County fifth-grade students attended the Children's Water Festival, held May 17 at Penn State Behrend. The daylong event is designed to educate students about the importance of water, including ground water, surface water, watersheds, water quality and water conservation, through dynamic, hands-on activities.

Victoria Alcorn, pictured in the center, curated "The Many Threads of Quilting" with the work of regional quilters. She reached out to family friends and to contacts at the North East Crazy Quilters guild.

“The Many Threads of Quilting,” a quilt exhibition that opened April 28 at the Erie Art Gallery, served as the senior capstone project for Victoria Alcorn, who graduated this month from Penn State Behrend with a degree in arts administration.
