Jason Pettner was recognized for his accomplishments this spring at Penn State Behrend's Excellence in Student Leadership and Service Awards when he received the T. Reed Ferguson Award. The award honors a junior who has demonstrated scholarship, leadership and citizenship through his or her academic and out-of-class involvement and shows promise of further achievement in the senior year.
Because of her heritage and previous life experiences, Wenrui Cai, who is of Chinese descent but was raised in Milan, Italy, has always been interested in interacting with diverse populations. That’s exactly what she has done at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, where she recently completed her sophomore year.
"Vortex," a digital art piece by the Erie artist Jack Stone, reassembles a commercial art project into an abstract form. The piece will be on display at Penn State Behrend through Sept. 8.
Alexandra Alfonso Castro, a chemistry major who recently completed her junior year at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has made it her mission to promote healthy habits on campus. She created the Campus Health and Fitness Club, a new student organization that educates students on how they can avoid getting sick.
