Twelve Penn State alumni will be honored for their outstanding professional accomplishments and named Alumni Fellows, the most prestigious designation given by the Penn State Alumni Association.
The Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA) has announced a $20,000 matching commitment that will grow the scholarship endowment recently established in honor of 2024 Renaissance Fund honorees Roger Williams, retired PSAA executive director, and his wife, Karen Magnuson, retired assistant director of University marketing. In recognition of the Renaissance Fund’s 55th anniversary, the PSAA will match gifts of $550 or more to any named Renaissance Fund with an equal contribution to the Roger L. Williams and Karen L. Magnuson Renaissance Fund.

Xiaoshi Zhang, an assistant professor of plastics engineering technology at Penn State Behrend, is the lead researcher on a $100,000 study of the lower limits of microplastics.
Nine Penn State students spent much of the summer in Toronto, learning about government systems, cultural differences and economics. They visited CN Tower, the Provincial Parliament and Fort York, a key battle site in the War of 1812.
The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team won the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament, defeating nationally ranked John Carroll,1-0. Nicole Croushore, a senior from Smithton, scored the goal.
