The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team has received the 2012-13 Donna Ledwin Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes “the highest degree of sportsmanship, character and ethics among players, coaches and spectators.”
The team also won the award for the 2009-10 season.
Coach Roz Fornari values the award, which measures a skill that is not often reflected on the scoreboard.
Students in the master of business administration program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, scored in the top 3 percent on the most recent ETS Major Field Test, a national assessment of university programs. Read full story here.
Three teams from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, topped preseason polls for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Competition begins Friday, when the men’s soccer team hosts Bethany at the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.
The soccer team has the benefit of experience: Five seniors and three juniors will start for the squad, including senior Eric Hackworth, the AMCC Defender of the Year for 2012.
