The college’s first “Trash to Treasure” event raised more than $900 for the United Way of Erie County. The May 26 sale, which was held in Erie Hall, made good use of the shoes, suitcases, coats and bicycles that students left behind when the semester ended.
November 28, 2011 - Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has awarded sixty-seven undergraduate research grants totaling $64,928 for the spring 2012 semester. The grants will support the research of 103 students who are overseen by forty-six faculty members. The spring award list is:

More people are working in the Erie region than at any time since the start of the 2007 recession, according to the latest Erie Leading Index, which was released Oct. 1.
The Early Learning Center at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has retained its accreditation as a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Academy for Early Childhood Program—a voluntary standard the center has maintained since its initial accreditation in 2005.
The patient — a young man — is bleeding from his forearm. His pupils are dilated, and his blood pressure is dropping. His student nurse quickly assesses his condition and decides her first priority is to stop the bleeding. She applies pressure to the wound.
