ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s track and field teams won the Colonial States Athletic Conference championships at Gallaudet on May 6 and 7. The men’s team claimed its seventh-consecutive title; the women won their fifth overall.
Behrend’s baseball and softball teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Baseball
Muskingum 7, Penn State Behrend 4
Penn State Behrend 6, Case Western 5
Zac Bogats, a senior from Coraopolis, batted three-for-five against Case Western, finishing with a double and two RBIs.
Softball
Penn State Behrend 4, Alfred State 1
Penn State Behrend 7, Alfred State 1
The Lions won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular-season title with a sweep of Alfred State on May 6. Jocelyn McNany, a sophomore from Cranberry Township, hit a home run in the opener.
Men’s track and field
First (of four teams) at the CSAC championships
Bennett Kerr, a sophomore from Murrysville, won the 5,000-meter race, finishing in 16:30.43. Behrend runners also placed second, third and fourth.
Women’s track and field
First (of five teams) at the CSAC championships
Olivia Nola, a sophomore from Erie, won the 5,000-meter race, finishing in 19:02.66. She also won the 800-meter race, finishing in 2:19.50. Savanna Carr, a senior from Franklin, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11:57.99.
