College Committees – Student Life – End of Year Report

The Student Life Committee met three times this academic year.
This has been a transitional year for students, coming out of a mostly remote academic experience, beginning with a mask mandate and shifting to more normalcy as the year progressed.
During our meetings we mainly focused on student retention, and general satisfaction with their college experience. Detailed meeting minutes have been posted on Teams.
Some suggestions for next year, in addition to standing charges:
- Develop and implement surveys about Canvas usage for students and faculty, to get a sense of the ways it is used, with the ultimate goal of more consistency or at least clarity for students.
- Get input from students about parking on campus (as a possible factor in retention).
- Discuss ways that commuter students can feel a greater sense of community and engagement on campus.
