ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s wrestling team earned two wins at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Quad Meet on Jan. 13. Six Lions recorded pins against Hiram.
Behrend’s basketball and swimming and diving teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s basketball
Penn State Behrend 71, Hilbert 55
Tommy DiRienzo, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 23 points against Hilbert. He also grabbed four rebounds. Matthew McDonough, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, scored 19 points.
Women’s basketball
Penn State Behrend 75, Hilbert 50
Lilly Palladino, a freshman from Export, led the Lions against Hilbert, scoring 13 points. Amber Carr, a junior from Girard, grabbed five rebounds.
Men’s swimming and diving
Grove City 174, Penn State Behrend 106
Tim Compton, a junior from Pittsburgh, won the 200-meter freestyle (1:47.55) and the 200-meter butterfly (2:00.42). Diver Jacob Earley, a sophomore from Erie, won the 1-meter (197.85) and 3-meter (186.30) events.
Women’s swimming and diving
Grove City 186, Penn State Behrend 110
Isabel Sheridan, a sophomore from Allentown, won the 1,000-meter freestyle (11:39.69) and the 500-meter freestyle (5:41.00). Camryn Watters, a freshman from Greensburg, won the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.94) and the 200-meter backstroke (2:18.77).

Nolan Fenton, a freshman from Saint Marys, earned his first collegiate victory — a pin — in the 197-pound bout against Hiram. Jake Brown, a freshman from Stroudsburg, won by pin in the 149-pound bout against Gannon.
